Rough seas on route to Simrishamn
The Traveller. Statue at the Railway Station in Ystad

Ystad to Simrishamn 28Nm 6 hours

The forecast was northeast 4-6m/s, increasing to 7-10 at night.Hoisted the mainsail and motorsailed aganist the head wind towards Sandhammaren at the southeastern tip of the "Skane Peninsula". Comfortabe sailing and great weather. When turning north at Sandhammaren, the mainsail snap shackle broke and the boom swinged away with a bang. Luckily, we were mororsailing against head wind so the boom did not brake down the rig. Made a provisional repair and lowered the sail

Then the wind increased to gale winds10-15 m/s, which was more than the forecast and big waves started to build. After a very uncomfortable last leg, we entered the guest harbour i Simrishamn. It was quite exiting to aim and go through the narrow opening between the piers with the high waves at stern. Not a good day at sea

We are now comfortably berthed at the guest harbour and awaiting the gail to blow out.
